Description
Teenagers Io and Maksim aren’t hackers. They’re just really good at avoiding the draconian security protocols of their home, the spaceship Tohorā. To them, the rules are just the paranoia of an older generation. They’re too young to remember the AI War, when the ship-system went rogue.
Now, centuries of travel from Earth, the Tohorā’s life-support systems are failing, and they’re running out of food and air. Io and Maksim’s only escape from this grim situation is a secret virtual reality game. Every night, when they should be sleeping, they explore an infinite world of monsters and magic.
When a message arrives from an alien civilisation the teenagers realise their game might be crucial to the ship’s survival. While the adults warn about re-awakening the rogue AI, Io and Maksim wander deeper into the fantastical landscape of the game. One by one they disable crucial safeguards, hoping to uncover the mystery at the heart of the Tohorā. Step by step, they draw closer to destroying the fragile bubble of life that is their ship.
We Broke the Moon is Hope Punk Science-Fiction, a genre that focuses on friendship, love, and a can-do approach to the challenges the characters face.
